Childrens Ministry
Children are a precious gift from God. PCC’s Children’s Ministry Team works to ensure our children are taught God’s Word in a Christ-centered learning environment. Our goal is to teach children and show God’s love by using age-appropriate curriculum based on the Bible, teaching aids (such as posters or DVD/VHS), prayer, crafts, songs, games, activities and through special events at Christmas and Easter.
Our Nursery is always available. Sunday mornings we provide childcare for infants through 3 years old. Wednesday nights nursery is a Discovery Club lesson and activity for infants through 1st grade.
A Children’s Message is given twice a month during the service before the children are dismissed for Children’s Church. The children are asked to go to the front and sit. A special short Biblical devotion is given to them. Often, the adults learn too!
Children’s Church is for children ages 4 through 3rd grade. The children are dismissed from the worship service before the sermon and led to where they will have a service of their own with a Bible story, prayer, songs, craft and giving of their offerings.
We have two Sunday School classes for children ages 4 through 1st grade and 2nd through 5th grade. The classes are from 11:20 am until 12:20 pm during the school year; we recess for the summer.
On Wednesday nights, the children have Pioneer Clubs/Discovery Club. Discovery Club is a new Pioneer Clubs program that we are using at PCC. We have two classes for children ages Pre-K through 1st grade and 2nd through 5th grade. We have an age appropriate time of Bible study, life application, Bible verse memory, award/skill activities, prayer and snack time. We meet from 6:45 pm unitl 8:15 pm during the school year; we recess for the summer.
When Summer comes, it’s time for Vacation Bible School. VBS is a one-week high-impact ministry program for children ages 4 through those entering 6th grade. Each year we have a fun new theme. It’s always an interactive time of worship with kid-friendly music, fun skits, applicable Bible stories, crafts, snacks and lots of Christ-centered activities with friends. VBS is staffed by adult and teen volunteers from our church. We always look forward to a wonderful fun time of teaching and learning more about our awesome God.
